This new building is Beach Municipal Credit Union’s flagship facility for all of the credit union’s services.

Located in Virginia Beach’s historic municipal district, the site demanded that the design of the new facility respond sensitively to its traditionally- styled neighbors. IONIC responded to the challenge in the form of a 5,000-square-foot building that paired a fashionable exterior that made a nod to tradition by reflecting the character of the district with a bright, open interior that reflected the region’s coastal flavor and the credit union’s “beach” name.

A blend of brick, siding and carefully crafted openings were designed to create harmony with the historic neighborhood requirements while keeping the building fresh and new. A lighted cupola accents the top of the pitched roof. The interiors are clean, slick and modern with a hint of traditional Virginia architecture mixed into the open plan. Well-detailed millwork accents the common areas to give the building a historical feel that is balanced with a fun new greeting feature inside the coffered great hall.
