In 2017, IONIC was hired by a new Blink Fitness franchise owner to design the first Blink location in Virginia as the rapidly expanding fitness company expanded to the South. IONIC was provided the challenge of adapting Blink’s bright and bold prototype look to a recently vacated 15,000 SF grocery store space in the Timberlake Shopping Center in Virginia Beach. The plan included vast open areas for cardio machines, free weights and personal training as well as private rooms for group fitness and state-of-the-art locker rooms.
