The Catholic Diocese of Richmond is developing a new 5,325-square-foot facility on its Indian River Road property in Virginia Beach as part of a broader cemetery project. The single-story design includes an Office, a Chapel, and a fully conditioned Connector, thoughtfully planned to support both administrative and spiritual functions.

The Office will feature a welcoming foyer, three private offices, a conference room, a break room, accessible restrooms, and space for storage and HVAC systems. The adjoining Chapel will provide seating for 100, a sanctuary platform, future niche space, and supporting restrooms and mechanical areas—all designed to create a reverent and inclusive worship environment.

A climate-controlled Connector will unify the two buildings, promoting seamless flow and functionality. Designed in compliance with current city and state codes, this project reflects Ionic’s commitment to purposeful, enduring architecture.

This project is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about strengthening the church’s foundation—both structurally and spiritually—to ensure it remains a beacon for the community for years to come. Ionic DeZign Studios is proud to be part of this journey, helping bring Kempsville Christian Church’s vision to life through thoughtful design and meaningful transformation.
