For years, Kempsville Christian Church has been a place of worship, fellowship, and community—a space where generations have come together to grow in faith. Now, the church is preparing for an exciting new chapter, one that will enhance its facilities to better serve its congregation and the surrounding community.
At the heart of this transformation is a 12,000-square-foot gymnasium and multi-purpose addition, designed to bring people together in new and meaningful ways. More than just a space for recreation, this addition will serve as a versatile gathering place for church events, youth programs, and community outreach. Whether it’s a game on the court or a special event, this new facility will become a vital part of the church’s mission.
The renovation also includes a new entry vestibule, creating a unified and welcoming arrival experience. Over the years, as the church has grown, different additions have given the campus a layered history. This new entryway will serve as a bridge—both physically and symbolically—bringing these spaces together and creating a stronger sense of connection for those who walk through its doors.
Beyond the entrance, the exterior of the church will receive a thoughtful design update, tying together various expansions from past years into a single, cohesive architectural expression. The goal is to create a refreshed and unified look that reflects the church’s evolving vision while honoring its rich history.
Inside, the existing fellowship hall will be reimagined as a dedicated youth fellowship area, providing a vibrant and engaging space for young members to connect, learn, and grow in their faith. This transformation is more than just a renovation—it’s an investment in the future of the church’s youth, creating an environment where they can feel at home.
This project is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about strengthening the church’s foundation—both structurally and spiritually—to ensure it remains a beacon for the community for years to come.
