Ionic DeZign Studios designed a $10 million expansion and renovation project for Second Baptist Church.
The expansion included a larger sanctuary to seat 1,100 and a new family life center for recreation, stage productions, fellowship dinners and senior recreational activities. A church services wing provides additional educational classrooms, a library, administration and pastoral care offices and a new state-of-the-art choir suite with extensive storage space. The new covered drop-off allows for safer access during inclement weather through a soaring twostory commons. Site work included additional parking spaces and access walks. The exterior design of the new facility matches the traditional style of the existing church campus, providing a unified appearance to the whole complex.
